Fishman |
Alan Fishman is President of
Sunset Management Services Inc. located in Littleton,
Colorado. As General Partner of Land Securities
Investors Ltd. (LSI), he is responsible for numerous
development projects in and around the Denver area.
Currently, Sunset Management and LSI along with
partners Peninsula Retail Development and GM Realty
Advisors, LLC are developing the $20 million Jefferson
Marketplace shopping center, a 16 acre site in Littleton,
Colorado. Fishman is also developing Chatfield Farms,
a two phase, 372 lot residential development in
Roxborough, south of Denver.
Other projects that have been undertaken by Mr.
Fishman after forming Sunset Management include
the ongoing development of Jefferson Corporate
Center, a 100 acre business park in Littleton
as well planning and developing two 72,000 s.f.
class "A" office buildings in the Corporate
Center.
In 1998, in conjunction with York Management,
a 17 story high rise was developed and built at
Speer and Third Avenue in downtown Denver. In
1995, Fishman was involved in completing the conversion
of Wellington Square from apartments to 72 condominiums.
Prior to Sunset Management, Mr. Fishman enjoyed
great success as a developer in various projects
on the east coast and Midwest. In 1988, with the
support of a financial partner, he began building
custom homes. After negotiating acquisitions from
RTC and FDIC, he built over 50 homes.
In Oklahoma, he was responsible for drilling
six successful oil wells and in Massachusetts
he acquired a small strip center, negotiated leases
for the center, acquired several large apartment
complexes and built a class "A," 42,000
s.f. office building.
In 1987, Mr. Fishman was CFO of General Builders
Supply Company, Inc. in Norwood, Massachusetts
where he was in charge of investments and tax
shelters. Prior to this position, Fishman developed
and built over 100 condominium units in Westboro
and Shrewsbury.
In 1984, Fishman worked for a utility contractor
experiencing financial difficulty. Mr. Fishman
was instrumental in reorganizing the company and
in two years, the company went from $1.8 million
in sales to $7.5 million and was highly profitable.
During 1981 through 1984, Fishman was the treasurer
of an insurance agency producing over $25 million
in premiums. Prior to 1981, Mr. Fishman was with
the accounting firm of Marvin M. Glick, CPA. During
his tenure with the firm, he acquired his CPA
and was instrumental in a number of projects including
the management of 1,200 apartment units and 200,000
s.f. of office space, development of a 180 unit
apartment complex and renovation and conversion
of a 20,000 s.f. building into a 150,000 s.f.
office building, all in Boston and the surrounding
areas.
Mr. Fishman earned a BS degree in accounting
from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst
in 1974 and received his MBA in 1978. Mr. Fishman
served as a Director of the Ken-Caryl Master Association
from January 1998 to 2000 and was appointed to
the Board of Directors of the Office of Consumer
Council by the Governor of Colorado in 2000. He
was elected chairman in 2001. An avid golfer and
boater, Mr. Fishman and his wife Phyllis reside
in Littleton, Colorado with their two daughters.
